BIM Data Now Available for Premier Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs)
Fife, Wash., March 16, 2011 – North America’s largest structural insulated panel (SIP) manufacturer, Premier SIPs by Insulfoam, now provides building information modeling (BIM) data for its energy-efficient, fast-installing panels. Design professionals can readily access specs on available panel sizes and attributes such as R-values, load capacities and seismic design criteria. BIM data for Premier SIPs are in Autodesk® Seek format, and available through the ARCAT® website and CADdetails.
“Design professionals can use the Premier SIPs Revit BIM object to ensure that their design utilizes the correct connection details and section drawings critical to SIP construction,” says Drew Cummings, Premier SIPs Project Manager. “This should help to reduce the time required for design drawing revisions and clarifications.”
Premier SIPs are an advanced building alternative to stick-built framing and other construction methods for homes, multi-family structures and commercial/public buildings. They offer superior insulating values to help reduce heating and cooling requirements up to 60 percent, and help reduce jobsite waste by up to two-thirds.
The Premier SIPs BIM models build upon the company’s extensive support to design and building professionals, including professional consultation and engineering, installation training, and the SIP industry’s most extensive collection of code reports and technical bulletins.
